The English Language Acquisition Plan (LAP) is a tool designed to help the EL Coordinator/Teacher communicate to the classroom teacher, parents, and other school personnel all of the information necessary to ensure the success of their emerging Multilingual Learners (MLs) all in one place. Please note, that while the accommodation checklist is included in this form, it DOES NOT replace the official LDOE checklist.
This form includes:
Student Information (LASID, DOB, etc.)
Family Contact Information
Academic History (Date 1st enrolled in US schools, ELPS date, SIFE, Long term EL, etc.)
Historical Annual ELPT Results
Can-Do Descriptors (Approriate vs. Inappropriate Expectations)
EL Service Plan (Program type, # days/week)
ELPT Trajectory Goal
Priority Domains and Strategies
Classroom & Testing Accommodations
Critical & Recommended Classroom Modifications and Scaffolds
2-year Post-Proficiency Monitoring Form
**The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) does not require EL programs to have Language Acquisition Plans for our students.**
